Well, let me start by saying this: When it comes to myself I’m not very patient, as a matter of fact, I am NOT patient at all and demand a lot from myself. My friends who know me well are very aware of this.
So, since my mom has been here already, I called her last night and asked, “So, I’ve been doing this ALL week… when will I see results?” You know, because I’ve been eating badly for months so I SHOULD be getting results after a week, right? I know, I know… it doesn’t sound logical but hey, we’re talking about ME… remember?? And of course, I just must weigh myself EVERY day because that’s how eager I am to lose weight, regardless of how many times my trainer told me NOT to do that.
So here’s the thing, even if you are not getting the results you want immediately, be patient, stick to it, the pounds will start to slowly melt away. This is what works about this diet plan: You are changing your eating lifestyle and by doing that, your body has to make adjustments, it has to get used to your new diet regime and it has to get used to burning calories easily. And if you fall off the wagon, get up, dust yourself off and keep going. It’s okay to cheat every once in a while, but, if you are going to cheat, don’t do it for all your meals. If you want something sweet, try to replace it with a healthy alternative instead. I normally eat plain yogurt, with some frozen fruit blended together. That gives it a little bit of a sweet flavor and takes the edge off. If you really, really want to cheat, eat less of that food than what you would normally eat, instead of having a hamburger with fries, skip the fries and just eat the hamburger, with a little less mayo than normal, etc.
In regards to how many pounds you lose, don’t focus so much on that, focus on how well you are feeling. For me, I know that once I start running at the beginning, even though my clothes fit better, I will not lose weight as easily in the scale, because muscle weighs more than fat. My goal is to fit in my skinny jeans again, my favorite ones that are tucked away in the closet waiting patiently for me. So keep at it and when you least realize it, you’ll see results.
