I’m already looking and feeling skinnier

After a very busy and successful weekend, I decided today I would sleep in… but, with a toddler, that’s not really possible sometimes but I did wake up an hour and a half later than normal (7:00 am), so in a sense I guess I did sleep in somewhat.

As I stumbled from my bed to the bathroom, I looked at myself in the mirror and found a familiar face, a skinnier looking face. So I weighed myself. To my surprise, I have lost 3 Lbs. this week. The great thing is that other than the first couple of days, I did not feel deprived nor hungry. And I found out that certain raw veggies curb that hunger (such as celery, carrots, broccoli and even zucchini) I have felt much better, plus the water has certainly helped. I don’t remember the last time I felt so hydrated. I am now dressed and ready to go, my pants are looser around the legs and waist.

In my diet, I allow myself to instead of calling it “cheating” I call it “treating myself”, so last night my treat was a glass of wine. I have replaced my pita chips and hummus with celery and hummus. Every now and then I will have a square of dark chocolate, my other favorite treat.

Since I had a translation to finish last night and an university assignment, I chose to finish those as my priority and ended up not running yesterday. I don’t know if running would have made a difference or not but I was concerned that my client needed that job done and my income depends on me keeping my word to my clients.  Anyhow, one of our friends in Lompoc told us about this trail that we can go hike. I have reserved weekends to spend with my family so we are going to take some pictures of wildflowers and then we’re going to hike that trail. I’m really looking forward to it.

What’s so cool about this is that I can now see myself fitting into my favorite skinny jeans by this summer and the 10K? I will definitely be ready for it by April 17th. Ah the sweet taste of success! There is no better treat than that!

What was my meal yesterday?
