As a man, I have experienced this as well. There are a lot of emotions involved with the battle to get healthy. Especially, when both partners have tried and failed to make it stick. Our self image becomes shattered… sometimes we become bitter people. My partner would put up road blocks when I began to see results. Maybe I need to run some errands instead of going to the gym. Or, she would come home with my favorite fast food… Many passive/aggressive tactics. She may not have even been conscious that she was doing it.
This reflects more on her own insecurities. Yes, she is the jealous type at times. But, now she sees my conviction. She knows my goals. I hope that as she sees my results that she is proud of me as well. This is one Road Block that should not exist. It pains me to here of others experiencing this as well.
Listen to Veronica. She hit the nail on the head. It comes down to your Happiness. YOU have the power to make this happen, and shine like you know you can!
