In reply to <a href="https://vitalitydetective.com/my-new-job-and-rev-abs/#comment-33">Richard Harrison</a>.

Oh yes Richard I know what you mean about the diet. I don't know if I told you this but I was a Spanish over the phone interpreter for two years exactly and to be honest with you, every time I would have a difficult call I'd go to the kitchen and eat whatever I found. One time I received a call where the doctor was telling a couple that their unborn baby had a birth defect and that they needed to make a choice on whether to terminate the pregnancy or continue, the doctor walked out of the room and left me on the phone with the couple. It was sad, they were crying, saying "what did we do wrong?" "why is this happening?" They decided to terminate the pregnancy and I was in tears the whole time, having to keep my composure so I could interpret. That was stressful and I ended up logging out and eating, so yes, I needed another outlet for my stress and I bless the day that I inquired about P90X.

You know my taste buds have changed too. Joseph and I went to Subway to eat one time when we were doing P90X and the food didn't taste the same, it was "fresh" but it just wasn't tasty at all.

Thank you for your recommendation regarding the fit club, yes I will most definitely implement one, there are a few other coworkers who have done Beachbody programs and I am almost certain that there are a few coaches there. I will find out and approach them about the fit club for sure. I also have a couple of Beachbody buddies that put together a fit club and I need to get in communication with them so we can organize another fit club :)

In reply to <a href="https://vitalitydetective.com/my-new-job-and-rev-abs/#comment-32">Cheryl</a>.

HI Cheryl, I also have university work to do, talk about busy! I was told by someone that I was "busy busy busy" I think I am so used to the workload that I was never present to how much I had on my plate until now, good thing I have enough training to be able to learn that there is time for everything. So today I woke up at 4:30 and worked out. I just need to make it a habit of going to bed early even if I don't like it and getting up in the morning to work out even if I don't feel like it and learn to not kick myself while I get used to it :)

In all, it takes a level of commitment for sure to be able to really say "this is important to me and I will do it no matter what". Even by not working out as much as I would have liked to this week, my new jeans are starting to feel loose in certain areas. You know what's interesting? Today that I worked out, I felt great, I had energy and was more focused at work. I know it feels like a sacrifice to wake up that early but it's more of a sacrifice to me, having to work while feeling so tired :)

“the girl who completed P90X...."

I love that! Comes across like "the girl who swam the English Channel," or " who climbed Everest".

I have to admit that so far the toughest part of the P90X program for me - Full disclosure: I'm on my fifth day - has been trying to get the nutrition part down. I am so used to standing at my sink eating I can;t seem to make the adjustment to real food meals. Not that I eat junk; I don't. But I've become accustomed to shakes and fruit and maybe some sliced apples and cheese and an occasional salad. When I eat out I stick to the salads and salad bars. And the truth is most food just doesn't taste that good to me anymore - except pizza, wouldn't you know. Not sure if my taste buds are retiring from the field or what. The only thing I seem to crave is salt and I think that's because I sweat so much in the workouts.

And of course I work from home and there are no tempting celebrations other than feeding the dogs and they don't share - thankfully. The office I worked at for the past 11 years though was just like the one you're in: they celebrated everything and they did it with FOOD! A great bunch of people and now that I think of it a great bunch of overweight people.

We ain't goin' back there Vero! Nope. No way! And BTW it sounds to me as if you may missing a golden opportunity to get these new found associates of yours involved in P90X. You have the creds. Why not start a Fit Club in the group? And if you guys have a casual dress day you should start sharing and wearing those Shakeology and P90X shirts. Ride the wave! :)
