If you&#039;re having digestive issues (such as diarrhea, constipation, etc.) this will affect your hormone levels as your body demands more cortisol to deal with the stressor. Your body&#039;s defense mechanism will try to produce more cortisol by &quot;stealing&quot; hormones from other sources (mainly pregnenolone which is responsible for the production of all reproductive hormones).
